For this Madden Tips Play video breakdown, we show a blitz from the Nickel 3-3-5 Wide. The name of the defense is the 3 Sam Will Blitz. By set up design, the pressure comes from the left outside linebacker.

Quick Set-Up:
- Pinch Defense
- Move MLB next to the LE.
- Once the ball is snapped, move the MLB to the right, then drop back in coverage over the short middle of the field (watch video for better explanation).
Coaching Points:
- The Nickel – 3-3-5 – Wide – 3 Sam Will Blitz design is to bring edge pressure from the left outside linebacker.
- If your team has an elite edge pass rusher, make sure he lines up opposite side of the left outside linebacker.
- Drop the middle linebacker or free safety over the short middle of the field. Watch for short pass routes in that area of the field.
- Occasionally, the left end may get free as the left outside linebacker is blocked by the right tackle.
