One of the new features that have not been talked about in Madden 20 is formations and plays being added to the game after it's release. This is a great feature because it allows the EA Sports Madden Playbook team the ability to draw up formations plays throughout the real NFL season and put them in the game. A play that was added just recently is the Gun Empty Base Flex – Hoss Y Juke from the Patriots playbook. Gun Empty Base Flex – Hoss Y Juke Vs Man Coverage

The Gun Empty Base Flex – Hoss Y Juke has mirror pass routes on both sides of the field. The hitch seam concept is being run by the outside receiver and slot receivers. The tight end has 3 different pass routes he can run, depending on the pass coverage.

Madden Guides Play Tip: in real football, he runs a shallow cross if a blitz is called. If zone coverage is called, he sits. If man coverage is called, he runs the juke route, where breaks towards the sideline.

In the image above, the defense is playing Cover 1. One of the linebackers is blitzing through the A-Gap.

Our focus will be on the tight end. Notice he runs the juke route towards the right sideline.

Once the ball is snapped, we dropped back our quarterback. We look at the safety and can tell it is Cover 1 man coverage.

This tells us immediately to focus in on the tight end.

In the image above, the tight end gets separation as he breaks towards the sideline.

We spot him open and throw a hard bullet pass and press hard right.

The tight end makes the catch on the run.

Madden Guides Play Tip consider hot routing the flanker on a seam route to clear him and his man out if you suspect man coverage before the snap.

Once the catch is made. The tight end heads up the field to pick up positive yardage.
