Dollar 3-2 Sugar – Zero Blitz

For this Madden Tips and Plays breakdown, we show how to set up the Dollar 3-2 Sugar – Zero Blitz. This blitz setup features a two-man pass rush while dropping 9 defenders back into pass coverage.

Default Assignments:

Note: assignments are from the offensive side view of the ball.

Quick Set-Up:

1. Press Man Coverage (optional).
2. Hot Route RILB Curl Flat Left.
3. Hot Route NT Hook Curl Right.
4. Hot Route LILB Middle Third.
5. Hot Route LE Curl Flat Right.
6. Take control of the RILB and move him close to the nose tackle. Stay in control of him until after the snap.

Coaching Points:

1. The pressure comes from the defensive back, who is blitzing from the left side of the offensive line.
2. 9 defenders drop back into pass coverage.
3. If the running back stays in the past block, he will pick up the blitzing defensive back.
4. The reason we stay in control of the right inside linebacker and slide him in next to the nose tackle is that we need him to occupy the left guard just after the ball is snapped. This will prevent the left guard from blocking the right end and the left tackle from sliding out to block the blitzing defensive back.

The Dollar 3-2 Sugar – Zero Blitz is it good blitz setup to bring pressure on the quarterback while dropping 9 defenders into man/zone combo coverage. This will help prevent the quarterback from finding a receiver to pass to because there are so many defenders dropping back into pass coverage.
