46 Bear – Wall Stunt

For this Madden Plays Defense Zone Blitz setup, we show the 46 Bear – Wall Stunt. The design of this zone blitz is to get pressure on the quarterback from the left side linebacker, without sacrificing the pass coverage.

Default Assignments:

Quick Set-Up:

1. Press Coverage (optional)
2. Hot route the FS to blitz
3. Move the FS up near the line of scrimmage with 4 yards between the C and LG.
4. Hot rote the MLB into a mid-read.
5. Switch to the WDT and hot route him to blitz (optional).

Coaching Points:

1. The pressure comes from the left outside linebacker from the right side of the offensive line.
2. If the free safety is not moved up within four yards of the line of scrimmage, then he will be the one gets the pressure on the quarterback. He will shoot through the A-Gap between the C and LG. This assumes that the weak side defensive tackle has not been hot routed to bluff blitz.
3. Press coverage is optional. We like to call it because it slows down the outside receivers from getting out in their pass routes.
4. If your team has an X-Factor defensive end, consider moving packaging or subbing him in at the right end position. This may allow you to get pressure from sides of the offensive line.
5. There are 6 defenders that drop in pass coverage.
6. There are 5 defenders that rush the quarterback.

46 Bear – Wall Stunt has been in Madden for a long time. Each year we have used it, we have been able to come up with ways to get pressure. Keep in mind if you call this zone blitz defense that you will need to mix in with other 46 Bear defenses with the same look, but with a different pass coverages.. The other option is to call the 46 Bear – Wall Stunt and make adjustments, but with the same look.
