A play that we like to run out of the Gun Spread Y Slot Weak is a play called RPO Read Bubble. This particular play is pretty effective as far as attacking both man and zone coverage. For this Madden Play breakdown, we are going to show you how we like to attack man coverage. Keep in mind it can be ran against zone coverage as well.

The Gun Spread Y Slot Weak – RPO Read Bubble has one receiver that goes out. That happens to be the inside slot receiver on the left. Notice he is running a wheel route off to the left side.
The defense that we're going to show for this particular play is called cover 2 man.
The way we like to run this play is to take control of the outside receiver in the left and send him in motion to the right.
By doing this it clears out the whole left side of the field where the slot receiver once he makes and catch should have plenty of room to run down the field.
Notice the defender that lines up across from the left slot is in man coverage. He also has a icon above him with the letter P, that which means Peak Defender.
In most cases when running the Gun Spread Y Slot Weak – RPO Read Bubble, he is going to read a run. He is either going to go after the running back or he's going to go after the quarterback.
If he does rush the quarterback and then we'll go ahead and throw to the left slot receiver as he runs as he runs his wheel route down the left sideline.
in the image above notice the peak defender is thinking it's a run and he comes inside looking either tackle the quarterback or running back. When we see this, we go ahead throw the ball to the slot receiver.
The left slot receiver makes the catch and heads down the field while picking up yardage.
The left slot receiver is finally tackled after he picks up about 14 yards.
